As founder and Managing Partner of MINERVA, Marija focuses on providing strategic advice to clients on portfolio management, IP protection strategies, as well as documentation and evaluation of IP asset of the companies.

With her combined professional background (Diploma in engineering and Master in Law on Intellectual property, LL.M, from CEIPI University of Strasbourg and Justinian’s I Law Faculty at UKIM ), and her long-term (15+) experience, Marija has successfully advised and represented major domestic and multinational companies from a variety of industries in the field of protection, enforcement and implementation of the IP rights with accent on trademarks and designs, as well as domain name issues and PBR protection.

Her expertise also includes searches and advise on availability and registration of trademarks and industrial designs, filing strategies using the national route and the Madrid System, studying of documentation and evaluation of IP portfolios in the context of IP system, licensing, representation before the Customs Authorities in cases of ceased piracy goods.

She also provides expertise on the distinction between original and counterfeit products in front of Court.

Her expertise also covers Patent-related matters  in the fields of constructions, civil engineering, buildings and constructions materials. 

As a European Patent Attorney, Marija has been elected as a full member in the Council of the European Patent Institute (epi), as well as a member of the European Patent Practice Committee (EPPC) and Patent Conduct Committee (PCC)  and Guidelines sub-committee for the period between 2014-2020, and as a substitute member in the Council and a full member of PCC committee for the period between 2020-2023.

Marija wrote numerous articles and gives lecture on various topics on Management of intellectual property, trademark enforcement and anti-counterfeiting.

She is fluent in English, Serbian, Croatian and Bulgarian and can work in German.
